Customer update

Due to the unprecedented situation of COVID-19, Woburn Safari Park is now TEMPORARILY CLOSED. We have made this decision based on the current advice from the Government and with the best interests of our staff and the public.

This means that we are currently unable to take any educational bookings. If you would like to find out any more about booking a school trip in the future, please email the team at education@woburn.co.uk.

At the heart of Woburn Safari Park are the twin roles of education and conservation.

A visit to Woburn Safari Park offers secondary school children a wonderful opportunity to get close to endangered species, with over 1,000 wild animal residents living in wide open parkland reserves.

WHY VISIT WOBURN ON A SCHOOL TRIP?

Woburn Safari Park offers an escape to the wild plains, jungles and savannahs of Africa, without ever leaving the country.

  • Curriculum-linked learning sessions include science, leisure and tourism, and geography.
  • Customise your school trip and choose from the basic or enhanced packages
  • Safari adventures by coach or bus as you travel through the beautiful wildlife reserves, getting up close to the animals
  • Discover more in the Foot Safari and get up close to lemurs, monkeys, penguins and meerkats
  • Brand new outdoor classroom for 'al fresco' learning experiences
  • The only wildlife attraction with a 'free contact' elephant meet and greet

OUTDOOR CLASSROOM

Take advantage of being adjacent to the UK's largest herd of Rothschild's giraffe, through a study of the behaviour of these graceful animals.  The students will understand why zoo's carry out behavioural research, identify the adaptations of this species and analyse and compare their results between these behaviours and those seen in the wild.

TEACHING SESSIONS

Both school trip packages include the option for one of our 30 minute, interactive educational sessions. These sessions can accommodate 30 students at one time and can take place in the outdoor classroom, where you can study the behaviour of the Rothschild's giraffe herd; at one of the animal enclosures where you can find out about the animals health and wellbeing; or in the indoor classroom, where you can discuss the conservation programmes surrounding the endangered species living at the Park.

Visitor Enrichment Centre (VEC)

Opt for a 30 minute teaching session in our VEC and your students will enjoy interactive multimedia teaching on one of the following curriculum topics:

  • Evolution and Adaptation
  • Animal Health and Wellbeing
  • Endangered Animals and the Law
  • Woburn and Conservation
  • Role of a Modern Zoo
  • Habitats and Adaptations
  • Extinction is Forever

If you haven't seen a topic to suit your objectives, then please contact us to discuss a bespoke session that meets your requirements.

VOCATIONAL VISITS

A visit to Woburn Safari Park is a great way to enhance the learning of students studying vocational courses such as leisure and tourism. As well as the chance to experience a leading visitor attraction, students can attend presentations which illustrate how we are a profitable and high quality place to visit.

Topics include:

  • Customer service
  • Marketing
  • Health and Safety
  • Science in the workplace
  • Careers in the Safari Park

Sessions can be adapted to suit the needs of students and their curriculums.

FEEDING TIME

When it gets to 'feeding time' there is a self-service restaurant and plenty of outdoor picnic areas. An indoor picnic area is also available for schools, please reserve spaces when you book.

Junglies Gift Shop is open for students to buy an animal themed souvenir of their visit and to pick up novelties, sweets, toys and gifts.
