Habitats and Adaptations

Rhinos, oryx and antelope grazing in expansive Road Safari

Session Outline

This talk looks at two habitats, savannah grassland, and arctic tundra, and explores the animals found there and their adaptations.

Artefacts from real animals show in detail the adaptations of different species.

For Key Stage 4, the talk focuses solely on the savannah grassland habitat.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Pupils will have an understanding of the adaptations of different animals and their habitats.

  • They will think about abiotic and biotic factors in developing these adaptations.
