African lion cubs get their first teeth

The two African lion cubs born to Joco and Zuri in July have started to get their first teeth

The cubs, who are now four weeks old, have also begun to hiss and spit at the keepers when they go in to muck out their pen and last week, keepers caught sight of the cubs first teeth growing through.

The pair are otherwise quiet and content, and are growing well, which shows that Zuri is feeding them well

Keepers muck out their enclosure as and when it is necessary by encouraging Zuri into a neighbouring side pen, where she can enjoy some quiet alone time as she tucks into some meat before being returned to the cubs.
