Animals at Woburn Safari Park Enjoy an Egg-stra Special Easter
Easter at Woburn Safari Park brings a line-up of exciting new attractions, new arrivals, and some much-loved TV characters popping by for a visit. And it's not just guests enjoying the fun… the animals got to join in on the act, too!
The Easter Bunny made an early stop, treating some of the animal residents, large and small, to Easter gifts.
Over in the Road Safari, the Asian elephants had their own Easter Egg Hunt. The keepers crafted egg-shaped treats using their favourite foods - bran, bananas, potatoes, and beetroot - and even added egg-shaped melons for a smashing bit of fun!
The elephants got straight to work sniffing out the hidden goodies and enjoying their Easter treats. Chandrika, Tarli, and Damini enthusiastically joined the hunt, using their sharp instincts to locate the treats. They demonstrated their strength and cleverness by crushing the melons with their powerful feet, making them easier to munch.

Over in the Kingdom of the Carnivores, the North American black bears were also getting into the Easter spirit. Keepers painted melons using animal-safe food colouring to resemble colourful Easter eggs. The bears set off on their own mini ‘hunt’, sniffing out the melons before settling down to enjoy their fruity feast.

The Easter Bunny also hopped down to the Foot Safari to surprise some of the smaller species.
The first stop was Desert Springs, where the meerkats darted around on the hunt for mealworms and other nutritious favourites, tucked away by the keepers. Scenting, digging, climbing and foraging are all natural behaviours for the charismatic mob and they left no stone unturned in their search for snacks!
Next up was Land of Lemurs, where Keeper Ruby got creative with Easter egg moulds and a special mix of tasty treats to whip up some unique egg-shaped goodies. Ruby moulded the leaf eater pellet that is a daily staple in the lemurs' diet, allowing the troop to join in on the fun, while ensuring proper welfare standards are met.
With their less than impeccable table manners, the ring-tailed lemurs certainly enjoyed their Easter treats!
While the Easter Bunny’s visit may have been brief, it brought plenty of joy and enrichment to some of the wonderful animals at Woburn Safari Park.
Wishing all of our visitors, staff and suppliers a very Happy Easter!
