Woburn Safari Park has recently welcomed two charming new arrivals to Farmyard Friends meet Darcy and Daphne, a pair of female domestic miniature donkeys. The duo arrived on Thursday 2nd October from Ashlyn’s Wildlife Park in Essex.

Two new domestic Donkeys, Darcy and Daphne

Both donkeys are a beautiful shade of brown, with Darcy sporting a slightly lighter coat, and Daphne showing off a darker hue. Their personalities are just as distinct – Darcy is the more confident and outgoing of the two, while Daphne is a little shy and tends to stay close to her best pal.

Darcy and Daphne have moved into the Park's Farmyard Friends secition over in the Foot Safari, where they’re gradually settling in and getting to know their farmyard new companions. Keepers are supporting their transition with a calm and consistent routine, gentle handling to build trust, and quiet spaces where the pair can explore at their own pace. You might even spot some enrichment items in their enclosure, specially chosen to help them feel right at home.

Keepers are excited to watch Darcy and Daphne grow in confidence and become fully-fledged members of the Farmyard family. Donkeys are naturally social animals, so keepers are hopeful they’ll soon feel right at home, and be ready to greet visitors with a friendly bray!
