WHAT DOES SPHENISCO DO?

By protecting breeding colonies and the surrounding marine habitats, they’re working to secure a future for this remarkable species.

The wild Humboldt penguin population is threatened by a variety of different factors including overfishing, climate change, illegal guano harvesting, habitat pollution, and unregulated tourism disrupting nesting sites.

Sphenisco collaborates with Chilean activists and scientists to support vital in-situ conservation efforts, aiming to prevent the extinction of these incredible birds.
