Lion cubs enjoy their first day outside

Following their successful health check last week, Joco and Zuri’s lion cubs enjoyed their first morning outside on Friday 27th September.

The African lion cubs have been exploring outside every morning since, under the watchful eye of their mother.

After having their vaccinations for feline infectious enteritis, viral rhinotracheitis and calicivirus, and passing their first health check, the cubs were able to venture out of their den to explore their side pen.

Zuri has definitely got her paws full with her energetic and curious cubs, which have been seen running and playing with one another, and with their mum’s tail.

The cubs were born on the 25th July but until now they have been enjoying some quiet bonding time in a private den inside the lion house with Zuri, as they would have done in the wild.

The yet-to-be-named cubs can now be seen playing outside in their side pen from 10am until 1.30pm daily, unless Zuri chooses to keep her young family indoors.
