Update on the Elephant Appreciation Weekend
Thank you from the team
The elephant team at Woburn Safari Park are pleased to announce that over £13,000 has been raised for the International Elephant Foundation through their Elephant Appreciation Weekend.
Over Easter weekend, the team of elephant keepers held a very special charity weekend in aid of African and Asian elephant conservation. Visitors were offered the chance to get their picture taken with one of the elephant herd, participate in lots of fun games and the keepers held special talks and demonstrations which helped highlight the dangers facing these beautiful animals.
Terry Shelton, Head of Elephant Section, said: "We're very grateful for the generosity of visitors over the Easter weekend. The Asian elephant herd here at Woburn Safari Park were brilliant ambassadors for their species, especially Tarli who was the star of the show.
"We look forward to next year's event and helping raise even more money and awareness for this important species."
